Marketing Your Events Through Social Media

Cheryl Lawson, Founder and CEO of Social Media Tulsa will share her experience and insights on marketing your events through social media. Event marketing is still one of the best ways to create and cultivate a brand's community. Connecting your offline audience to your online. 

She'll talk about: 

1. How to use social media tools to promote your events

2. How to deploy teams to manage live coverage during your event

3. How to design your event to facilitate connections and social media sharing

Cheryl Lawson brings corporate marketing communications, entrepreneurial acumen, and deep social media and event marketing expertise to her clients, colleagues, and students. Cheryl’s own event, the annual SMTULSA Social Business Conference, has put Tulsa on the social media conference map.  Before returning home to Tulsa,  Cheryl served as marketing manager for Fleetwood Enterprises and spent ten years in sales and marketing for General Motors. Cheryl holds a BA from Southern University in Baton Rouge and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. She is a marketing course developer and adjunct professor for University of California’s Extension Center where she teaches social media marketing, event marketing, market research, and event sponsorship courses. In addition to her own event, Cheryl is the lead social media person for some of Tulsa's favorite events. SCOTFEST, COUFest, and the Route 66 Marathon where she holds the position of Social Media Director.
