Speaker: Margarita Vega

Principal, Vega & Treviño // Certified Life Coach

Born in Chihuahua, México, Margarita Vega migrated to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1987, where she attended Cascia Hall Preparatory School and then the University of Tulsa graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish in 1994. During 19 years Margarita and her husband, Francisco, published Oklahoma’s first and award-winning newspaper, ‘Hispano De Tulsa’, and the first Spanish language business and social information directory, ‘Paginas Hispanas’. In October 2011, Hispano de Tulsa was recognized as the “Outstanding Bilingual Publication” in the nation, officially making the newspaper the Best in Nation, by the National Association of Hispanic publications. Margarita now runs a PR consulting firm, Vega & Treviño, which specializes in creating and deploying a strategic community engagement plan that is respectful and inclusive of the minority groups. Together, they help companies reach their community engagement and diversity representation goals. Some of Vega & Treviño PR’s most notable clients are: Northeastern State University, Supermercados Morelos, Tulsa State Fair, State Senator Michael J. Brooks, The City of Broken Arrow, and Tulsa Public Schools. Aside from being an inspiring writer, Margarita is a Leadership That Works certified Life Coach, certified by the International Coaches Federation. Although an inclusive Life Coach, Margarita has committed to putting women first in her practice, because “women because we forget about ourselves more often than most.”
